Symbols

This is a story written in metaphor.   A tale told in code. A map drawn in symbol...

In the tradition of myth, fable and sacred storytelling, The Legend of Jumping Mouse speaks to the soul through symbol - images and moments that resonate far beyond logic.  These symbols awaken something deep and ancient within us, reflecting the inner terrain of our becoming.  Each stage in her journey is articulated in symbolic mirror - revealing a living initiation along the path of awakening to authentic self.

Here are just a few of the symbols that live inside the story .  Each symbol is a mirror —sacred code etched into her path.

The Walled City

The beginning of the soul’s unrest. A place of safety, tradition, and conditioning.   Mouse feels the ache of something more and begins to question who she’s been told to be.

The Gate

A threshold crossed with intention. Leaving behind the known world is an act of  will — of choosing the call of soul over the comfort of structure.

The Forest (Guided by Raccoon)

A liminal space where Mouse cannot yet see clearly. Here, she is blind to her own shadow, navigating by instinct and learning to trust subtle signs.

The River (Guided by Frog)

The point of no return. An initiation marked by betrayal and surrender. Mouse takes her first leap — choosing transformation over safety.

The Wise Old Mouse

A sacred disruptor. This elder mouse challenges inherited dogma and invites Mouse to examine the belief systems that have shaped her identity.

The Desert (Guided by Buffalo)

The aloneness of true reflection. Here, Mouse meets her own shadow fully and willingly gives up her sight — a sacrifice that deepens her inner vision.

The Sacred Mountain (Guided by Wolf)

A steep, inner climb where Mouse learns to care for herself, set boundaries, and stop “smiling at the predator.” In exchange, she gives up her hearing, learning to  listen within.

The Reflection Lake

A moment of stillness and soul-recognition. Mouse sees herself not as she was, but as she is becoming.

The Eagle

The final leap; she takes flight. The rise into soul vision — where all of her sacrifices become wings. From here, she sees the journey in its fullness and becomes who she was always meant to be — at last, takes flight.
